O’Learys Norrköping: A Dynamic Sports Bar Experience in the Heart of the City
O’Learys recently opened a new location in Norrköping, located within the Linden Shopping Centre. The 3200m² venue offers a diverse mix of activities from bowling and shuffleboard to karaoke, darts, mini-golf, and an arcade. As the venue was designed to cater to a wide range of visitors, Effektgruppen was brought on board to deliver an extensive range of audio, visual, and control systems to create a seamless, user-friendly experience.

True to O’Learys’ reputation for having a lively atmosphere, they have an abundance of activities, including bowling, shuffleboard, karaoke, darts, mini golf and an arcade. The venue will also span over 3 floors soon, showcasing an impressive 500sqm roof terrace.
Project Installation
Effektgruppen has experience with over 100 sports bars and nearly 300 restaurants and hotels built to date, so we felt comfortable when O’Learys approached us. We developed project plans for audio systems, video systems, lighting systems, and control surfaces to ensure ease of use.
Every inch of the venue is designed with technology in mind. Over 60 screens and projectors are fitted throughout the space, with a distribution system powered by AMX SVSI and SVSI. They have for many years been the brand to use in large scale installations.
Stage and Dance Floor
At the heart of the venue showcases an impressive 200” LED screen on a large stage overlooking the dance floor and restaurant. The powerful SRX 900 sound system from JBL delivers a mixture of power and ambience, balanced to entertain those who wish to dance and those who wish to dine.
In the project, a variety of manufacturers were used to fulfil the functionality, including JBL, SVSI, Crown, BSS, Crestron, Mikrotik, Audac, Middle Atlantic, BrightSign, Samsung, Panasonic, Sennheiser, AKG and Helvar. We’d like to give special thanks to suppliers Septon, Starfelt, and 2ndplanet for their active part in the project.
Control Systems
All technical equipment is centralized within four large racks for the venue’s three floors. A Crestron control system is at the heart of it all, and each of the venue’s four bars has a 10″ touchscreen. Even the karaoke rooms have their own 7″ Crestron touchscreens, giving visitors full control of lights and audio.
Collaboration
The development of O’Learys Norrköping involved collaboration with several key partners. The main contractor, E2C, successfully project managed the installation detailing bringing in numerous contractors. For the electrical work Boman EL & Larmtjänst did an impressive job and OneDisplay contributed to the venue’s visual setup with its signage solution.
