Located in the heart of Dubai, directly next to the Burj Khalifa, is one of the largest malls in the world. It spans over one million square meters and is home to more than 1,200 stores and 200 restaurants.

In this iconic setting, RMAL, a renowned operator of restaurants and hotels across the United Arab Emirates, embarked on an exciting franchise journey with Oche, a leading name in the dining industry.

To bring this vision to life, RMAL selected Effektgruppen to design and build the restaurant. With a history of successful projects across continents, including launching multiple Oche venues, Effektgruppen was the obvious choice to design and construct RMAL’s latest venture.

The technical solution involved exclusively using AVIP and DANTE equipment from suppliers such as Genelec, AMX and BSS. To ensure good sound quality throughout the restaurant’s 1200 square meters, Effektgruppen used 45 speakers from Genelec’s Smart IP series 4436A & 4435A, as well as 7 pcs of 7040A subwoofers and 2 pieces of 8050 to boost the DJ up a bit. AMX SVSI AVIP equipment was used for video transmission between the 25 video sources and about 30 screens.

All equipment throughout the restaurant, including Bluetooth receivers and DJ inputs, are connected via DANTE and AVIP to a total of 8 pcs of 48-port EdgeSwitches from Ubiquiti. BSS’s well-known and reliable BLU Series managed all sound distribution. To keep inline with the Oche brand, all speakers and audio equipment were discreetly installed to retain a slick aesthetic design.

To provide the everyday user with a user-friendly way to manage all technology, our control system was installed using Crestron hardware such as touch panels and processors. Furthermore we integrated the clients existing light system, from the Helvar manufacturer.
